What to expect
With this feature enabled, anyone on your Team can add independent volunteer time for a Team owner or coordinator to approve. Once approved, independent volunteer time will be included in your Team's volunteering feed and social impact reporting.
To enable this feature, click the settings tab on your Team page, then click features. You can choose to either auto-approve or require approval to track independent volunteer time. If you choose auto-approve, you'll still receive email notifications for new submissions and be able to decline a submission at any time.

Add independent volunteer time


To track and share your independent volunteer time with your Team:
- On your Team hub, scroll to the volunteering feed section
- Click add volunteer time
- Fill out the details of your independent volunteer time, including the nonprofit's information and what you did during your volunteer time.
You will receive an email notification once your Team owner or coordinator approves or denies your independent volunteer time.
If you need to, you can change the details of your volunteer time by clicking to your volunteering feed, then clicking edit independent volunteer time. Or, click past events on your homepage and click on your independent volunteer time to view and edit.
Manage submissions
Team owners and coordinators will receive an email notification each time independent volunteer time is added.
To manage independent volunteer time submissions for your Team:
- On your dashboard, find the independent volunteer time section
- Click review next to any submission
Here, you can view all volunteering details and either approve or decline the submission. If you approve the submission, it will be included in your Team's volunteering feed and social image reporting.
If you need to, you can click manage next to auto-approved or previously reviewed submissions to change your decision.
How the volunteering feed works
Anyone on your Team can view and comment on all past Field Trips and independent volunteer time in the volunteering feed. Click on any item in the feed to view details, see photos, and make comments.
